I hear….elephants?? Oh an attack of Mr. Hiccups

Here’s two videos we shot that Mike pieced together first shows Keira suffering from Evil Mr. Hiccups.  I’m not sure if daddy’s working with him in this or not.  The next is a cute one we took of the noises Keira makes while she was sleeping.  Lets just say we want to know when we acquired a herd of baby elephants.

Recent pictures

Here are some recent pictures of Keira.  Neither of us have really been taking any lately.  I think Mike’s off his camera enthusiasm while I was never big on pictures of myself so its probably rolling over a bit.

Bye bye diaper rash…we hope

It’s been over eight days that Keira’s had her diaper rash.  We went back to her doctor about it on Monday and she said it was getting better but she put Keira on a diet (only 15 min on each side or 6 ounces in her bottle) until it goes away because she just makes so much down there that it wasn’t having time to air out.  It sounds cruel and to her I’m sure it is but her diaper rash is now vanishing very quickly and I’m hoping that it will be gone either by tonight or tomorrow.  Here are some pictures by the way of her naked time which was required before and totally sucked because all Keira would do was scream her head off about it.

Younger cousin number two

My cousin Therese just had her baby girl yesterday giving Keria her second younger cousin this week.  Tehyah Marian Van Brunt was born on the 16th weighing 8 pounds 10 ounces and being 19 1/2 inches long just like Keira.  Like Keira Tehyah was born early but that was because Therese needed to be induced early since the pregnancy gave her diabetes.  Both are doing just fine though Therese did have some sugar complications while in hospital.  Here's a picture of them. 100_0905  100_0897100_0903

1 month checkup

Keira had her one month checkup yesterday.  Everything went well and we learned that she's 8 pounds 1 ounce now and 22 inches long.  (Something I'm happy about because it means I can finally use my bjorn front carrying back for her since it had a weight and height limit)

Looking at the paper work they give us her height puts her in the 75% tile (no surprise given both our families tallness) while she only ranks in the 25% tile for weight.  But as my mom said she was born early so that should be fine.  The doctor also seemed really pleased with her weight gain so that's all the really matters.  Now I get to go to my six week check up today to see how I am doing.  Oh fun stuff...

Baby cousin

Keira's baby cousin Tyler Cade Anderson (my older cousin Stephen and his wife Cathy's son) was born today at 4:50 PM. He's 21 inches and 8 pounds 5 ounces but unlike Keira he wasn't 3 weeks early so who knows she could've beaten him.  Tyler was only a bit early, about one week to be exact, since Cathy was supposed to be induced on the 21 but her blood pressure went up and they had to induce her a.s.a.p. instead. baby_Tyler_052

This is Keira's second cousin by them by the way she has an older one named Maddie who's a toddler now. Maddie's the one who donated 90% of Keira's current wardrobe to her. Thank you Maddie for that!

Evil Nemesis

Keira's arch nemesis evil Mr. Hiccups keeps on ruthlessly attacking her with no provocation.  Horrible I know.  So in order to fight back Keira and mommy have formed a  Death to Mr. Hiccups group.  =)  If you feel like joining the cause against him Keira's still accepting members.

Down with Mr. Hiccups!!

Diaper rash

Keira's gotten a diaper rash again but this time it isn't going away with just washing her butt in water.  I called the Doctors office and they've told us to stop using everything, including wipes for awhile.  Instead we were told to use Lotrimin AF for fungi on her bottom four times a day.  Hopefully that will make the wicked diaper rash die.

Another new addition

Yes we did it and went ahead and got our Shiba Inu puppy.  A really cute dog breed that resembles a fox and is the only one that I seem to like enough to get besides of course my beloved Rotweillers.

And despite what many might think it's actually working out really well so far thanks to the fact that she so far is a very calm puppy.  At least by puppy standards.  We or in truth I named her Inari no Kitsune which in Japanese means Inari's fox spirit.  IMG_0700

As many of you know all our pets except Scarlet are named after a God from ancient times without ever being from the same group.  That being the reason for Scarlet's name since I couldn't find one I liked that didn't already have someone in that God group.   Since Shiba Inu's are a 10,000 year old Japanese breed I found it only fitting to pull from their now considered Mythological Gods.  Mike from the start didn't care what I named her as long as it was short, narrowing out a lot of names for me since Japanese gods tend to have really long ones.  Out of those I picked the one  I thought was the cutest sounding which was Inari the god of rice and fertility who ironically is always represented by her messengers which are coincidently foxes.  Something I found quite fitting.

Grandpa Greg and Carla come a visiting

Mike's dad and his step-mom Carla are in town this week just like my mom.  Here's some pictures of them with Keira.

Future super model... Watch out Vogue here she comes

We took Keira today to get her picture taken so that we can finally send out some announcements.  Yes, you will be getting some soon.  Just give us some time to get them out there are a lot to address, over 40, and we're don't exactly have a lot of free time on our hands.  They did give us a cd though so here's a taste for you all of you impatient ones.

No Mike pictures with her I know I tried to get him to pose with her but he said he'd wanted to wait until we did family ones.  I found out later from him that he didn't realize I was going to get more than just some announcements for us even though I told him to dress up.  Now he's kind of kicking himself for it but oh well we'll just go back again in awhile.

Keira and Grandma Laurie

Here's a few pictures we took of my mom with Keira on her last day visiting.  It's her second trip out by the way. She happened to be visiting when I went into labor last time.  Like last time she was a real help again.  This time she even volunteered to take two night shifts for us so that Mike and I could get an actual full nights rest.  You know that thing where you sleep uninterrupted.  Those with children probably vaguely remember it like we did.  Ahh how we miss those days....

Ahh... Now this is the life.

Last Saturday, which was the 30th, Keira got her very first bath by Mommy and Grandma Laurie.  Unlike other babies she surprisingly liked it, but that's no surprise given the fact her mom and grandmother both love their baths.  Keira especially loved it when Grandma Laurie washed her hair for her under the sink.

Do the's the latest rage

Here's some pictures Mike took of Keira doing the latest and coolest dance, which she naturally invented.  She's definitely got dancing potential don't you think.

At it again...

Busted our little gamer again last Wednesday. Here she is after apparently an all night gaming session. Hope she at least got mommy's Too Human game further along.

Ok, maybe we just posed her but its fun to think she's already at it.
