All my hard work may be in vain…

So…We just got back from San Jose were we visited friends and they all got to see Keira for the first time.  Unfortunately I didn’t get to see Kim and Molly (Nathan was out of town) because Molly was sick and though we love them…Bree and I didn’t want our little ones to catch it as well. We went because Mike went there on business so we tagged along so that they could see Keira and I could see Logan since he’s now over a year old and I had never seen him in person.

Besides that  I was put on antibiotics for being sick over a week ago now.  Keira got tested as well, poop tested that is.  She’s fine sick wise but her doctor noticed microscopic amounts of blood in her poop.  She said its common if they have difficulty breaking down  their food.  I.E. she’s probably allergic to something I’m eating…like milk. Which is common.  So until she goes in for her six month checkup on the 12th of February Keira is off breastfeeding and on soy formula.  Which means I have to pump to keep up my supply and hopefully if we’re lucky she can breastfeed again.  The doctor said it wouldn’t hurt her to breastfed but it just takes more for her body to digest it.  She also said that if Keira was a formula baby she’d switch to soy and then if that didn’t work to another formula which has the proteins already broken down as small as they go. But Keira’s breastfed so we’ll see how it goes.  Worse comes to worse we might supplement with soy formula or if we have to switch entirely.  The doctor did say though that she can be breastfed, it just may be harder on her.  She also said that Keira’s normal for the past two months at least blow out morning diapers are actually diarrhea ones and we have to judge normal from when she was born not now.  Back then she had multiple movements and not one big one in the morning.  That said though she said it could be her new norm but it shouldn’t be that much like it is.

Anyways as you can imagine if find this majorly sucky.  First, because I worked so freaking hard to get her to breast feed to begin with.  Three months! So the idea of it failing like this is irritating to say the least. Second, because I have to refit pumping into my schedule and Keira doesn’t exactly like to sit there and watch while I do so.  And thirdly, because Mike and I will have to give her bottles, and if you haven’t seen her recently Keira just loves bottles.  Heavy on the sarcasm.  With me…she’s ok but grouchy at it since she knows mommy won’t give up and just let her breastfeed.  With Mike… lets just say she walks all over him and waits till she gets passed to me for breast feeding, though she may eat just a little from him to tide herself over.  Or at least that’s how its worked before this, not that Mike often did bottles like maybe seven times.

So my mom will be satisfied

Here are the pictures my mom complained for.  They weren’t on the server (left on laptop only) when I put all the pictures up from Christmas, cause trust me I actually look.  Like I stated before, or at least I think I have, I have no intention of letting people tell me what to put up and what to write on my own blog so strike one in my book.  And yes, I know I might sound mean but this isn’t the first time someone’s dictated to me what I need to put or write, yes I was actually told what to write on my own blog.  To which Mike politely replied when I told him, “If they don’t like it they can create their own.” Smile.

Sorry if I sound extra moody but you would be too if you’re starving and can’t eat anymore today.  Weight Watchers sucks right now in my book.  But only because they’ve limited my portions and food.  Which is good I know but tell that to my starving tummy. On top of that I’m trying not to be sick…and not really winning. While little Ms. Keira gets extra grouchy again, which is most likely teething, unless of course she’s getting whatever I’m getting.  Which I blame on my stupid allergies and sinuses but who knows.

I have videos I need to put up someday by the way but I’ve been doing school stuff, attempting not to get sick and all that so bear with me. Sadly though I’ve forgotten what they are…it’s been awhile.

Anyways here are the pictures she wanted and I’ll give her that they’re very  nice.  Dad just needs to pose more with Keira to get more shots of them up.

Her very first Christmas

Keira, Mike and I spent Christmas first at my parents house where we stayed with my parents and Grandma Taber.  Then around 12ish we headed up to Great Grandma Crafts to join that side of the family.  Here are some pictures from the Crafts.

Christmas Eve

Mike, Keira and I went to San Diego for Christmas but because we have to go to so many houses, normally on one day, we decided to have Christmas on Christmas eve with his mother’s side so that way they would be able to see her as long as they liked.  Here are some pictures from that Christmas and yes Auntie Kym very much likes to hold her.
